DAY 3 Learning at Home with The Reading Realm: At the Zoo

At The Zoo (1845) by William Makepeace Thackeray

First I saw the white bear, then I saw the black;
Then I saw the camel with a hump upon his back;
Then I saw the grey wolf, with mutton in his maw;
Then I saw the wombat waddle in the straw;
Then I saw the elephant a-waving of his trunk;
Then I saw the monkeys—mercy, how unpleasantly they smelt!

We thoroughly enjoyed sharing this silly poem with you today and learning some sign language too! Thank you everyone for joining in!

Here is a menu of suggested tasks and activities – remember you don’t have to do them and could just do one or two if you wanted to! Make sure you have some time to play, have fun and create too! (Scroll down to the bottom for the free resources!)
