Please find some free resources based around Jorinda and Joringel by the Brothers Grimm. This fairy tale tells the story of a shepherd boy called Jorindel who must venture into a gloomy castle to save his beloved Jorinda, who has been transformed into a nightingale by an evil fairy.
These would be great for when you’re short of time, encouraging your children to visualise and record what they see when reading, revising spelling rules, embedding grammar skills and, above all, enjoying some extracts from a classic fairy tale!
Perhaps you can encourage your children to update this story and have Jorinda saving Jorindel fro the wicked witch!
