Today we explored CLPE’s ‘Reflecting Realities’ report and the importance of books being ‘mirrors, windows and doors’. We looked at independent publishers, including Knights Of, Book Island, Lantana and Tiny Owl. You can also find more books featuring BAME characters at Alanna Max. Finally we explored a poem by Dean Atta called ‘I Come From’ and wrote our own versions. A lovely, lovely session today – thank you!
